According to the map of US military expenditures around the world, the country of Saudi Arabia shows an expenditure of $0. Accordingly, out of the Awax scandle of the 80's, there were 5 military bases constructed in Saudi Arabia, which were constructed to accomodate aircraft carrier war planes from the Gulf to Dessert Storm. Are those bases closed? Don't they cost anything to operate? Were they ever built?
Saudi Arabia
It's unclear based on your question what map you're looking at. But I can clarify that we do not have a map of military spending in Saudi Arabia per se; we offer a map of military assistance, arms ales and bases and troops. The map of economic assistance shows Saudi Arabia at $0 because Saudi Arabia doesn't receive economic assistance, which is unrelated to the cost of operating bases. Please let us know what map you are looking at if you would like further clarification. Thanks.
