Embed on your website (MySpace users and any other website):

If you paste this code into your HTML, the counter will simply appear inline on your web page as the sample to the right.

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" height="50" width="145" align="middle" data="http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar/flash/counter_white_bg.swf">

</object >

For Facebook users: All the code that is needed is the URL to the flash file which is:

http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar/flash/counter_white_bg.swf?
Also a good size would be 145px x 50px

Enter this URL into the Flash Movie area.

Tried to put the counter in a blog. no luck. Tried both whats in the box and the link below it. The link shows but no counter.

It works in my blogger

It works in my blogger account. I had to go to layouts then page elements, then click on html and add to page elements. Then cut and paste the code there. It should work.

Counter

I have the counter working fine on my MySpace page, but I think it would look better with a 1-pixel-wide black border around it. Is there some easy way to alter the code to do that? I tried just adding "border=1" in the obvious place but that didn't work.

We tried to keep it nuetral so it would work with

numerous pages.
BUT...
If you have access to style sheets in MySpace just add a class to it.
For example

<span class=counter>
counter code here
</span>

Then in your style sheet or in the pages code
.counter {
border: 1px solid black;
}

border around comment

No, I tried that method for adding a counter, and it didn't work. At least, not on my page. Maybe it works on someone else's. My page is at

counter

I have tried to embed the counter on my blog with no luck - am using the url http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar/flash/counter_white_bg.swf
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Wordpress

Do you support Wordpress blogs? What about other Counters like: U.S. Aid to Israel? Others?

Wordpress.com (not .org)

Wordpress.com (not .org) currently does not allow <embed> codes to be placed from any sites other than from Google Video, Youtube, DailyMotion, Grouper, Odeo, and SplashCast.

And there ya go.

We have iframe code...

Can you use that.
All our pages are now iframe ready via the embed button.
So if you just want the counter you could do.

<iframe style="border:0px" src=http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar/iframe.html
width=300px; height=100px >
</iframe>

You can change the w/h as needed

I have a Facebook Account,

I have a Facebook Account, and have added the Cost of War counter. Problem is: I cannot see what numbers to put into the heighth & width to achieve a correct aspect ratio. I used 425 for width and 373 for heighth, but the click to play message is next to impossible to read. Please advise. Thank you. Peggy DeSpain

For the small counter

try 145px x 50px
I will note that above as well.
Thanks for the feedback
