Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go?
Taxpayers can take stock of how the federal government spent their 2007 income tax dollars: over 40 percent went towards military spending, while education received just over 4 percent. This publication shows how the median income family's 2007 income tax dollars were spent for every state and 200 cities, towns and counties.

Organize before taking action
Boycotting oil to get oil companies to lower oil prices is a great idea but we must organize and research before we do anything. Nobody is going to play along with the boycott if they don't have factual information to fall back on. And what difference will it make if only a few of us decide to boycott? The oil companies are just going to point and laugh at our useless misery. Somebody really needs to take charge? But who's going to do it?
Home mortgages and fuel prices
Yeah, prices are going up all over the place. Why? Fuel is still cheaper here than in other countries. In 1963, while we were paying 38 cents per gallon, Germans were paying $1.48 per liter. Figure it out. That trend has continued until now. Why the big increases in the last couple of years? World demand. We are buying most of our goods abroad now and our money is fueling china's growth. Growth demands fuel."tah dah".Home mortgages? Well just rack that one up to pure greed. Realtors, bankers, buyer and sellers all "WANTED" (instant gratification). We have raised two generations of whining complaining spoiled brats.
ETHANOL? A joke. A 5 gal equivalent expenditure in fuel returns only .27 gal gain. Factor in the costs of water
used, corbon footprint, etc, it is totally unprofitable. In fact the entire ethenol industry is subsidized by the taxpayer while driving up the costs of food products. We Americans have become so naive that we will will believe anything a politician tells us as long as the stroking
feels good. WAKE UP! Stop being so damned apathetic about politics and getting your education on the world through sound bite and talk show hosts who seem to enthrall us.
Tax Dollars
NPP should provide additional information as follows:
(1) Military tax dollars - how much was paid to contractors, or is that money hidden elsewhere?
(2) Public employee health and pension benefits - how much are we paying to subsidize the lucrative benefits enjoyed by public employees - who are unionized and have guaranteed employment?
My tax dollars keeps the
My tax dollars keeps the Island of Guam afloat!!!!!!!!!!
I am certain that we are
I am certain that we are being robbed out of houses due to the current failures in the home mortgage industry. The other half of the American dream is our autombiles. The constant unjustifiable rise in fuel prices. I cannot understand the blindness of the American public, accepting this grand theft of our money, lively hoods, homes and businesses. All, because of the greed of the oil barrons. Main characters BP-T. Blair, President of Iraq Unocal oil, and Texas oil men, Washington, D.C. This is by no means un-patriotic, the truth will set you free. We must put a stop to this highway robbery. There is so much demand for oil. Okay, now, everyone will have plenty. America will boycott for one week. No excuses: "I have to work". For what every time you, get a raise, the oil barrons, get 3, or another one hundred and twenty three billion, per quarter. When you get to 1.50 per gallons 87 unleaded, we will be back to driving. Mr. Boss you cannot fire everybody, and if you do. You will be our next boycott. We the American people have had enough.
We do not want to hear the excuses, about production, a hurricane,or anything else. $1.50 per gallon, oil guys can make it happen, and we are going to help you, trust me.
April 21, until further notice.
money
I agree. If we spend the money that we spend on war and oil, on schools we wouldn't have to build any more prisons.
I'm staying home next week!
