Transparency & Data
We've updated our state and county population numbers to reflect the recent 2000-2010 intercensal estimates published by the Census Bureau.
Intercensal estimates, released once a decade, adjust the existing postcensal estimates to smooth the transition from one decennial census to the next. In other words, we replaced the 2000-2009 population numbers in our database with this new 2000-2010 information.
We also made a decision to remove the 1980s population totals from the Federal Priorities Database because they are not available in intercensal form (although the Census Bureau tells me they may release this data in the future).
Please get in touch if you have any questions or go see the new population numbers in action.
